Faceoff Guide (2026): Objectives, Pickups and the Rules That Change Your Loadout

How Faceoff works, what fails a run, and how to win it

Last Updated on September 30, 2026

The short answer

Faceoff is a race: two squads of four each clear three objectives from a pool of six, and the first squad done wins. Specters, On-Call Crew and Air Support are all disabled, so learn the objectives, because speed on each one decides it.

Researched September 29, 2026, current through Update 44 (Iceblade of Narin). Picks need two independent sources; anything we could only confirm once is left out.

How it works

  • Faceoff is a PvPvE mode in Höllvania from Update 38. Two squads of four race to complete three objectives, and the first squad to finish all three wins.
  • Lower Vehrvod is Single Squad, where you race AI-controlled Tenno. Vehrvod District is Squad versus Squad against other players.
  • The three objectives come from a pool: Exterminate, Data Burn, Techrot Scan, Pirate Radio, Lockbox and Assassination.
  • Specters and On-Call Crew cannot be deployed, Air Support Charges are disabled, and Team Bonus Consumables have a three-minute cooldown.

Tips that save runs

  • Blue pickups give your squad a boost, such as Fleet Footed (double movement speed) or Melee Lethality (double melee damage). Red pickups hit the other squad with a penalty.
  • Techrot Scan: guard the scanner for 2 minutes 30 seconds and destroy signal jammers to speed it up.
  • Lockbox: collect five keys one at a time. A key you have looted self-destructs after 15 seconds, so carry it straight to the box.
  • Pirate Radio: escort the balloon and destroy signal jammers for a speed boost.
  • Techrot are weak to Gas and Magnetic damage and resist Cold, so pick your weapons for the Techrot objectives.

Mistakes that waste runs

  • Bringing a Specter or On-Call Crew plan. Both are disabled.
  • Sitting on a looted Lockbox key. It self-destructs after 15 seconds.
  • Using Cold damage on Techrot.
